How To Get Links From This Blog
One of the things that makes blogging so successful is the fact that there are communities formed around them. People participate, throw in their 2 cents, and help the blog evolve. If you’ve commented on this blog, you’ve likely gotten an encouraging response to your comment. That’s because I really want you here, whether you agree with me or not. We help each other grow.
As you’ve noticed, in order to reward the top commentators on this site I have added the Top Commentators plugin in the sidebar on the left. It basically displays the name of the 10 people that have left the most comments. If you have a site, this works out great because you get a link from a PR4 site, that’s ranked ~80,000 on Alexa and ~11,000 on technorati. If you don’t have a website, I would recommend entering your favorite charity as your URL in order to bring some attention to them.
If you don’t have the time to stick around the site and comment on every post, you now have three more options.
1. Text-link Ads: You can purchase a monthly link on this site that will be featured on the top left hand side of the site. Not only will you get the benefits of a PR4 site linking to you, but you’re sure to get some click-through traffic. TLA is now offering a $100 sign up bonus. The current purchase price of a monthly link on this site is $25. I would say that this gives you 4 months worth of links, but I plan to raise the price soon, so now is the best opportunity to jump on this bandwagon.
2. Post Level Ads: You can purchase a monthly link on a specific post.
Each Post Level TLA will:
- Be exclusive to one Advertiser.
- Allow Advertisers to have a full 80 character title and 150 letter description.
- Be positioned directly at the end of top posts making it ideal for click throughs.
- Each ad will be on a single page only.
3. ReviewMe Review: You can purchase a review from me for $100, and it will get it’s own separate and permanent post. I will do a thorough evaluation of your site or product. At first the benefit is some buzz and traffic generated towards your item. The after affects is that you’ll always have a link from this site. The site will grow, and so will the ReviewMe price, but your link will remain intact, serving you well for years to come.

I’ve recently been accepted to do Review Me posts, as well; but I have no idea how people decide whether or not they want to be reviewed on my site. Do you have a better understanding of the system than I do? $100 seems like so much money for someone to spend on something like that, and I’m wondering about the process.
$100 isn’t that much compared to the potential value that could be gained from the deal. You get people that are interested in your product over to your site. It really converts if you gear the review to the right audience. You get the residual effects of a permanent link on a site that’s growing, which will increase your technorati and google rankings. You don’t lose.
Thanks for your thoughts. I’ll be interested to see if you get to review some sites/products here. I would love to review other people’s sites, and I’ll be curious to see how it goes for you.

Giving a backlinks to your regular commentators is a great idea.
I think that it doesn’t take many comments to be a top commentator (currently). I think I’ll nose around the site and see if I can’t find a few areas where I can contribute.
