Hey Tinkerbell. Sometimes life gives us limited choices, or none at all. Our parents for example. You got the ones you got, and that's what you got. I think the power of making decisions is invaluable to controlling our own behavior.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nice post. I believe that the power of choice is really great in that it can change everything based on what we believe in. It give us the feeling of contentment over decisions we need to do.

Ponn, I would love to listen to your radio interview about this subject. If you have a chance, please respond with a link to it!

Michael, there is always some kind of sign. I'm glad to still have you on board, thank you.

Pamela, you're right... we couldn't reach our destination without the direction... unless it was a fluke!

Anna,

Good to see you commenting again. I would say that choosing wisely is the hard part in all of this. But if you decide quick, you could see that you made an error, and switch over to the better decision. If you hang there indecisively, you're just wasting time.

good post! The power of choice is what separates us from lower species. While they mainly act on instinct we have the ability to become aware of our thoughts/actions/behaviors and decide which ones to keep and which to discard.. it is definitely to our advantage to develop this unique power and choose wisely!

True. We have to stand firm on our decisions in order for our goals to be fulfilled.
A changing decision is like life without direction. Without direction, we certainly can't reach our destination.

This must be some kind of a sign. As I was going through cleaning out some inactive blogs from Google Reader, literally as I clicked the "Feed settings" option to click unsubscribe, this post came in.

Needless to say, good post. I'll be sure to keep your blog permanently.

I SO believe in the Power of Choice!

I was faced once by a colleague who debated with me about "empowerment" and when it came down to it...I related that fact that she has the "choice" to accept that we disagree...she didn't like this choice (which I thought wasn't a bad option at all), and "chose" not to associate herself with me anymore. Unfortunately, no one knows where she is nowadays...I was hurt and sad for some time, but I didn't do anything wrong but have my own opinion.

Everyone and anyone can and will have the ability to make their own decision, but that's that: They *need* to make a decision--period.

For me some decisions come very easily....others, take me a ton of research, contemplation, inner-debate, etc. But, whenever I make my "choice" I "chose" to accept the consequences both good and bad.

I find that some people 'chose' *not* to "chose" because they don't want to bear the consequences of their own decisions...and further stay in the rut that they moan and groan about on a daily basis.

Luckily, I disassociate myself with these people, because I "chose" to live life happily, peacefully, joyously with my family, friends, colleagues, clients, etc. I "chose" not to complain...unless I take action to correct my problems, issues, etc.

I can go on, about this topic, as I was on a 1-hour internet talk radio interview about this very subject...but, I'd rather "chose" to empower others with my writing, so I'll stumble in support of your post, and leave knowing that you're "choosing" to grow, prosper and take advice willingly, even if your loved one(s) may warn you not too.

I don't doubt, that you've already weighed your pros and cons and *will* make the right decision for you!

Chose freely my friend!
