[...] I’m not talking about the type of productivity where people set up diamond mines in Africa and exploit the African locals as diamond mining slaves. I’m talking about the type of organizations that go in, build profitable, sustainable, and employee friendly businesses that are a win for the employers, a win for the employees, a win for the investors, a win for the country, and a win for the environment.
I couldn't really say how many bloggers are environmentally aware, but I will say that Blog Action Day must have had a huge impact on awareness. Perhaps a poll should be in order to take count =)

Our town has a recycle day, where we can bring our old electronic appliances, so that's not a problem...except for keeping it in a small apartment that long. I do think in general the idea of repairing things is obsolete. Mostly they're designed to be recycled at best.

We are on the same wavelength, though.

What percentage of bloggers would you say are environmentally aware? I've been reading some lately where they're thinking in terms of more lavish lifestyles, which includes jet setting. Just what we need right now. Flying does pump out the old CO2.

You know what Jean, I would recommend looking through some of the Blog Action Day posts that went around on Monday. I'm sure with 20,000 blog posts, there are some great resources for that. If not for repairing, than at least for proper recycling of old junk.

I'm already doing everything on your list except fixing appliances. The trouble is finding someone competent to do the repairs. In general it's a waste of time and money. If you know of some resources, I'd love to hear about them.

I am glad I came across your Blog Action Day post Alex. I had forgotten all about it totally.
It was the second BlogActionDay post I read today, but the first one I thought it was just a reminder post. I guess I should stop by Anja Merret and thank her as well. Well, thanks for being on the ball and writing your Blogactionday post Alex.
