Happiness Project: Brian Clark of Copyblogger

Brian Clark is the type of guy to who thinks words mean something. This is why his metaphorical, yet concise writing always captivates us at Copyblogger. At Copyblogger, Brian’s M.O. is providing copywriting tips for online marketing success.
When you ask yourself Who The Heck Is Brian Clark? This is the answer you get.
Brian Clark is an Internet marketing strategist, content developer, entrepreneur, and recovering attorney. In addition to building three successful offline businesses using online marketing techniques, he has sold scores of products and services online via joint venture and affiliate arrangements. He founded Copyblogger in January of 2006, and continues to develop successful web properties with a variety of partners.
Don’t forget, Brian has recently launched the highly successful Teaching Sells program. So if you have a skill, and you want to learn how to package it up so that is brings value to people, and ultimately money to you, he’s the guy to talk to.

1. How do you define happiness?
A journey.
2. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your happiness now, versus when you were a child?
Who says I’m not still a child?
3. What do you do on a daily basis that brings you happiness? (and how consistent is the feeling of happiness throughout your day)
I’m blessed in that I enjoy my work (it’s amazing how much this drives other people crazy), but I experience the most joy with my two children.
4. What things take away from your happiness? What can be done to lessen their impact or remove them from your life?
Jean-Paul Sartre said “Hell is other people,” and often that’s true. But happiness is also other people, so you have to let the annoying people slide off.
5. What do you plan on doing in the future that will bring you even more happiness?
Continue to expand personal freedom for me and my family. Happiness is up to each of us, and yet we lock ourselves into mindsets that won’t allow it by arbitrarily limiting our own freedom. That’s why so few of us find it.
