Happiness Project: Daniel Scocco of DailyBlogTips

Born in Brazil, Daniel has lived and studied in several places around the world, including Italy, England and Chile. After receiving a degree in International Economics and working for a year within a multinational company, he decided to quit and pursue entrepreneurial projects on the Internet. When he is not blogging or involved with these projects, he likes to write in the third person about himself.
You can find Daniel blogging as the editor of DailyBlogTips, or at his personal blog Innovation Zen. If you want even more from Daniel, he also contributes to CopyBlogger.

1. How do you define happiness?
Tough one. Happiness for me is the ability to live in harmony with the surrounding environment, and be thankful for that.
2. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your happiness now, versus when you were a child?
I would say 8 now, 10 when I was a kid. Hopefully by when I get old (and wiser) I will be back to a 10.
3. What do you do on a daily basis that brings you happiness? (and how consistent is the feeling of happiness throughout your day)
I think one can derive happiness from several sources. Some derive it from work. Others from money. Others yet from health and so on.
Personally I try to derive mine from inner values, like honesty, integrity and so on. It is a bit abstract, but if you manage to get the meaning I think that deriving your happiness from core values and principles is one of the most stable sources you can find.
4. What things take away from your happiness? What can be done to lessen their impact or remove them from your life?
I am not happy when my acts are not aligned with my values. Secondly, illness also take a hit on my happiness (even the small flu…).
5. What do you plan on doing in the future that will bring you even more happiness?
I plan to keep studying, traveling, and talking to as many people as possible.
