I don’t understand how people cannot see the benefits in failure. You appreciate success so much more when you have failed and got back and tried again.

@WezeeMall – your absolutely right. We do not really regret the things we have done, instead we regret those things we have not done.

@ Rigdha – I like your point about feedback.

@ Cath – it certainly is a numbers game. Just like at the casino, the more hands you play the greater more likely it is you will come across a winning hand.
Churchill was one of many big names who suffered from speech impediments. Others include Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Willis, Isaac Newton and even Tiger Woods, who Alex wrote about recently.

Hi Alex – This is an inspiring post. It seems like success is a numbers game – the more we try, the greater our chances of achieving it.

This was a great article. Thanks. I love the Nike Commercial Michael Jordan did. Its on my iPod too so I can listen to it everytime I feel bad about certain results.

It’s also useful to redefine failure and call it feedback then it’s easier to change course and get back right on track.

I’ve found Edison’s quote “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up,” to be extremely true. Later in life many of these people(who’m I’ve personally met) find themselves caught in hindsight saying things like:

“…if only I would’ve kept going…if only I would’ve tried this/that…if only”
