Very interesting article about success. I especially appreciated your thoughts on kaizen, which can really move mountains if you use it over time. :)

I think one thing people really need to change if they want the "ticket to success" is their beliefs and understand their thinking. I've been reading Free Mind Free Body by D.R. Boisse and he talks about the power of your beliefs and how they control your experiences and thus your life. Very profound. So I think the first step is really changing your beliefs so you can make permanent change. :)

I'd prefer to make challenges instead of resolutions because it's more motivating and simply, more challenging.

And to up the ante, make the challenge public. I've made mine public on THE POWER OF LESS Challenge Forum by Leo Babauta of Zen Habits.

Cheers~

I think you're spot on Alex! I loved the layout of your post, and I think that the just one goal & making it measurable is awesome. I didn't set a bunch of goals this year, I actually refrained from it.

One goal, them, resolution seems to be the way to go for 2009 and I particularly resonate with 7, it has to be fun

Thanks

I love the concept of just one goal. Multi-tasking doesn't always allow room for success.

This is an excellent article on new years resolutions. I also wrote an article to have only one resolution in order to focus. I think it also helps of you publicly announce your resolution to your friends and family. This will increase the pressure to bring it to an end.

I also think that it should link to your goals in life. However, this is where many people struggle since they are not sure what they really want to achieve in life. I wrote an article to help how to find your goals for life.

@Dan Massicotte, Yes, Tim Ferriss is one of many advocates of single-tasking. Time to hammer away at the subconscious!

@J.D. Meier, I like results as much as the next guy, but that's not where we spend the majority of our time. You know the deal.

@Jarrod - Warrior Development, I think so. I'll do periodic updates with how I'm doing.

Really good write up.

There seems to be a theme of obsessive results.

Wasn't it Tim Ferriss who said something about multi-tasking being bull? I think so.

You can certainly tie in an element of the subconscious in here. One goal puts one thing on your mind...and when you're 'dreaming' about it every night this process of meditation makes things happen even faster.
