One day I was fortunate enough to find myself reading Think Simple Now, Tina Su’s personal development blog. I thought the content was amazing, and asked her if she would like to guest post on my blog. About a week after that interaction, I visited Tina’s blog again just to find she had 2,000 more subscribers than the last time I checked.

Tina Su is a super star, and I take pride in the fact that I saw that from the start. Tina’s personal mission is to bring more happiness and fulfillment to the lives of others. Tina does more exciting things, than most people do in their life time.

Why does she do them all? I’ll let Tina answer that:

Why do I do it all? The answer is simple: Because I love it! With practice, I’ve gotten pretty good at living life with very few limitations. I consciously choose everything that is in my life, literally. I am not listing all this to impress you, but rather to impress-upon you that it is possible to do the things you love, to live the life you create, and to do so without any stress. I’ve learned that the secret is: to simply Decide, and then dive in with massive action. Clarity is power. A clear decision to do or have anything carries with it energy that can fuel you to follow through.

Tina burst onto the blogging scene and has accomplished in 3 months what people only dream of. Tina did this with concrete goals & focus, content creation, & getting the word out. What that means is she used all available resources in order to make her blog a raging success in as little time as possible.

1. How do you define happiness?

Happiness is a feeling that can only be defined by ourselves. For me, it is a sense of connectedness with myself and with those around me; a feeling of contentment and intense energy surges over me.

2. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate your happiness now, versus when you were a child?

I have difficulty gauging how happy I was when I was younger, probably because when I was a child, I was in so much joy that I was not pondering the concept of happiness or how to measure it. :)

I can tell you that right now, I would rate myself at 8.

3. What do you do on a daily basis that brings you happiness? (and how consistent is the feeling of happiness throughout your day)

Gratitude: spend time each day to be thankful for all the wonders from this day and in my life.

Connecting with people: share moments of meaningful exchange with friends and family.

Meditation: share moments of meaningful exchange with myself.

Learning & Growing: take the opportunity to make a difference each day. Make it worthwhile.

If I simply practice gratitude and remind myself to be grateful, then I will be happy throughout the day.

4. What things take away from your happiness? What can be done to lessen their impact or remove them from your life?

Living in the future or dwelling in the past. Meanwhile, forgetting about the now.

What can be done is aiming to bring conscious awareness in everything that we do. Do things with fully and with absolute focus.

5. What do you plan on doing in the future that will bring you even more happiness?

Rather than more happiness, I am aiming to bring sustainable and continuous happiness into my life. I feel that the idea of chasing more happiness is what keeps us bound to seeking it from outside of ourselves. I plan on spending more introspective time with myself and learning how continuous happiness can be found from within me. I plan on focusing more of my energy towards reading, writing, self-dates and photography.

Wow! Thanks for introducing me to this blogger!

She has written some impressive stuff =)

Bro, I want to share with your readers what you told me just now:

I was supposed to go on a 15 minute ride from the library to my girlfriend’s house last night.

The snow was terrible, the accidents were plenty. It took 3 hours!!!

At first, when the car wasn’t moving, I was frustrated. Than I remembered that my life is my design, and that I have control over what I think and feel.

I became grateful for being alive, for the nice car with the heat and radio that I had.

I got happy and enjoyed listening to the various stations. I’m normally not into pop-culture, but I forgot all my CDs, so I enjoyed being present with what was around me.

Yes, at first it sucked that my phone was dead, and I couldn’t call anyone to keep me company, or to call my girlfriend to let her know that I didn’t die in a horrible car accident in the snow.

Then the tranquility of being unreachable and undisturbed dawned on me, and I became grateful for that as well.

That was so beautifully put, dude!

I think that story’s so revealing that we can CHOOSE to be
Happy now..

Or like Lee Tolstoy once said,”If you want to be happy, be.”

Thanks again Alex!

Tina really is a superstar, you have to check her out!

Thanks for sharing my share!

I was supposed to pick up dinner from a Thai restaurant, it should have been ready at 6:15. I got there at around 8:00. They were happy I didn’t ditch the food.

When I got to her house, she ran outside and hugged me and said she was so nervous that something might have happened to me. Awwww… =)
